About me

Background
While engaged in numerous scientific and engineering projects for over 35 years, I have authored, co-authored, and edited more than 75 technical articles and scientific reports. The publications have appeared in refereed journals of national and international stature as well as in magazines intended for broad, non-scientific audiences. My areas of formal training are in engineering and materials; but extensive experience working with and in government laboratories, academia, and the U.S. Department of Energy has given me a diverse background that includes writing and technical publications. I can use this background to help authors better communicate their concepts and results to key audiences such as program administrators and funding agencies. More background details are available in my curriculum vitae.

Interests and Skills
I am primarily interested in working with authors to help them develop concepts for technical proposals and presentations as well as in polishing the language and content, as appropriate, in reports and articles prior to publication. I am highly skilled in using the tools in the Microsoft Office Suite (PC-based). I am also familiar with Macromedia's Dreamweaver web-authoring software.

Formal Training
BS in Mechanical Engineering -- Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA
ScM and PhD in Engineering Mechanics with a minor in Materials Science -- Brown University, Providence, RI

Affiliations
