Getting Started
Depending on the size, nature and current status of your project, I should be able to develop a no-obligation, free estimate for the editing work I propose to undertake on your behalf.
If your project involves a large writing effort that is in its early stages, please contact me to discuss your needs and schedule.
However, if you have a draft document, or presentation file, that is less than 15 pages, I will be happy to review it within 48 hours of acknowledged receipt in order to provide my estimate along with a preliminary proposal and an example of the editorial services that I can offer. Generally my estimate will provide a range of potential costs depending on the level of effort you authorize. To begin, please email me with information about the nature of your document (e.g., purpose, submission deadline, size and format) and its intended audience. However, please do not attach any electronic files to this initial email message since I cannot accept attachments from unknown correspondents. As an alternative to an attachment, you can include a few pages of text from your document in the initial e-mail. You will be able to send electronic files after I have responded to your initial inquiry.
Confidentiality
I am keenly aware that the results of leading-edge research can represent a valuable competitive edge in today’s dynamic business environment. I therefore pledge to hold information about your project--as well as your personal information (e.g., your e-mail address)--in the strictest confidence during and after my involvement with your project. At your request, I will formalize this commitment by executing a non-disclosure agreement before undertaking your project.
Working with me
Prior to starting work on your project, I will develop a letter of agreement outlining key requirements and deliverables for my work. Details of this agreement will be negotiated and/or modified based on written and/or verbal exchanges between us, but my work on your project will not formally begin until this agreement is signed by both parties. In the event that major changes in the project scope are required, the agreement may need to be amended in order to account for the impact of those changes.
Payment
My fee will be invoiced upon completion of the project, or on a weekly basis if the duration of my work on your project exceeds two weeks. Invoiced charges are due and payable upon receipt. Payment can be accomplished via check or money order. Payment can also be made online via PayPal.
